Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ physical function, create individualized treatment plans, and set meaningful goals
• Implement therapeutic interventions including exercise, gait training, and manual techniques to maximize recovery
• Document patient progress clearly and promptly in the chart to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and rehab team members to coordinate comprehensive care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and functional independence
• Monitor outcomes and modify treatment plans to achieve the best possible patient results
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and patient-centered environment while adhering to facility policies

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy license in Maine or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent clinical degree preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Strong documentation skills and comfort using electronic medical records
• Ability to work in a travel assignment environment and adapt to new teams and sites
• Pass required background checks and health screening as part of facility onboarding

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, mobility and balance training, and therapeutic exercise
• Knowledge of common rehab protocols and post-acute care practices
• Proficiency with gait training, assistive devices, and transfer techniques
• Strong clinical reasoning and outcome-driven treatment planning
• Effective bedside communication and patient/family teaching skills
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize a full caseload
