Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on therapeutic care and assist patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility training
• Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of the Physical Therapist
• Monitor patient progress and report findings to the supervising therapist to optimize outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety techniques
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (typical requirement)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a PTA in North Carolina
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willing to obtain
• Strong patient care skills with a compassionate, team-oriented approach
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Previous experience in outpatient, inpatient rehabilitation, or skilled nursing preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or related accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and modalities used in rehabilitation
• Proficiency with patient assessment, safety techniques, and fall prevention
• Comfortable with documentation and basic computer skills for electronic health records
• Ability to follow care plans and adapt interventions to patient needs
• Strong teamwork, time management, and interpersonal skills
