Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and process inpatient medication orders to ensure patient safety
• Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently
• Provide clinical patient care across populations from geriatrics to pediatrics
• Rotate into ambulatory roles such as anticoagulation clinic and oncology when scheduled
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy technicians to optimize medication therapy
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and institutional policies
• Participate in quality improvement and medication safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligible for reciprocation within 90 days of hire
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
• Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
• Pharmacy residency preferred for ambulatory rotations; advanced practice certifications preferred
• BLS certification required if rotating to anticoagulation clinic (renew every two years)
• Retail pharmacy experience will not be considered

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (required)
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Order verification and medication checking with strong attention to detail
• Medication dispensing and clinical pharmacy best practices
• Knowledge of current state and federal laws governing pharmacy practice
• Ability to interact positively with multidisciplinary teams and medical sales representatives
• Experience supporting ambulatory services such as anticoagulation and oncology
• Strong communication and documentation skills
