Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications accurately, prioritizing patient safety and timeliness
• Perform therapeutic drug monitoring and dosing for vancomycin and aminoglycosides
• Manage anticoagulant dosing and provide clinical recommendations to the care team
• Compound sterile IVs and verify preparations using Dose Edge to ensure sterile technique
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, oversee Pyxis and Pak Edge operations
• Conduct medication verification, handle first doses and emergency med box checks
• Document clinical interventions and medication administration in Meditech
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians on pain consults and medication management

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD preferred)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO Pharmacist License required)
• Minimum ~2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience (as indicated in job profile)
• Comfortable compounding sterile IVs and using Dose Edge for verification
• Experience with Pyxis/Pak Edge and Meditech EMR strongly preferred
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
• NICU experience is a plus for candidates with neonatal exposure

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD preferred)

• Inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication verification best practices
• Therapeutic drug monitoring and dosing: vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulants
• Compounding sterile IVs and sterile technique verification (Dose Edge)
• Medication distribution systems: Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge
• Electronic medical records (Meditech) documentation and order verification
• Supervising technicians, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining safe medication practices
• Providing clinical consults (pain management) and interdisciplinary communication
