Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide full-time, high-quality outpatient and inpatient occupational therapy care across all age groups
• Deliver treatment planning and ADL training tailored to patient-specific and age-specific needs
• Perform home visits and village travel to extend care into the community
• Collaborate frequently with medical providers and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Incorporate evidence-based practice into individualized plans of care and modify plans as needed
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and medical correspondence
• Support long-term care patients when scheduled at the local facility
• Demonstrate professional conduct, cultural competency and respect for patient diversity

Qualifications

• Licensed in good standing as an Occupational Therapist in Alaska or holding an out-of-state OT license while awaiting Alaska licensure
• Current NBCOT certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (minimum)
• No minimum clinical experience required, though clinical experience is preferred
• Must meet immunization requirements (Hep A, Hep B, Varicella, MMR, Tdap, Polio or acceptable titers/historical records)
• Successful completion of background checks, national criminal check, 10-panel drug screen within 90 days, fit testing, competency testing and required verification documents
• Provide required onboarding documents including photo ID, SSN card, professional license/certification, education/transcripts, emergency contact and references

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (minimum)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and treatment planning across outpatient, inpatient and long-term care settings
• ADL training and therapeutic exercise programming
• Strong documentation skills and ability to compose medical correspondence
• Evidence-based practice and ability to interpret OT literature
• Cultural competency and effective communication with patients and providers from diverse backgrounds
• Experience with modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation where applicable
• Comfort with village travel logistics and delivering care in variable treatment settings
• Fit testing, competency testing and immunization compliance processes
