Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care during 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM shifts
• Assist clinical staff with therapeutic activities, observation, and behavioral interventions
• Monitor and document patient status, progress, and any incidents accurately and timely
• Support a safe and secure environment within the correctional medical setting
• Participate actively in training and orientation during the initial two-week period
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license required
• Comfortable and professional working in a correctional health environment
• Willing and available to work the assigned Fri-Tue schedule (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday)
• Able to complete the two-week training/onboarding at the start of the assignment
• Ability to pass required facility clearances and background checks

Education

• Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) - required
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in patient observation, documentation, and reporting
• Experience or familiarity with psychiatric patient care and de-escalation techniques
• Clear, compassionate communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow facility policies and maintain security protocols
• Basic clinical skills relevant to psychiatric technician duties
