Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support users of the EHR and ancillary clinical systems across outpatient and inpatient settings using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, and web/video conferencing
• Configure, optimize, and maintain clinical content in partnership with medical staff (labs, radiology, medications, immunizations, diagnosis and procedure codes)
• Assess clinical workflows and medical decision support systems and recommend improvements to align with best practices
• Triage user issues, coordinate escalation to subject matter experts, and ensure timely resolution
• Develop engaging training materials and deliver effective education to diverse clinical audiences
• Collaborate closely with IT staff, vendors, and clinical teams to implement system changes and integrations
• Participate in accreditation-related activities and align clinical processes across SEARHC clinics
• Support implementations and be available to work outside scheduled times to meet project deadlines and solve technical problems

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date; agency staff must hold an active Alaska license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a medical setting
• Minimum 2 years of experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology (programming, report generation, installation, or hardware/network experience)
• BSN preferred; advanced degree(s) may substitute for minimum experience on a year-by-year basis
• Teaching or formal training experience preferred
• Experience with HL7 messaging preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred
• Advanced degree(s) may substitute for required experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep familiarity with Electronic Health Records and clinical information systems
• Clinical content configuration and clinical decision support
• Understanding of medical standards of care in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Knowledge of scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with diverse stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and independent work capabilities
• Ability to collaborate with IT, vendors, and clinical leadership
