Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to geriatric residents
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff promptly
• Accurately document care, observations, and any incidents in the medical record
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and the care team to deliver person-centered care
• Support mealtime assistance and follow dietary guidelines as directed

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
• Comfortable working night shifts and available for per diem scheduling
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
• Basic charting and documentation skills; attention to detail
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and best practices
• Skilled in safe resident transfers and mobility assistance
• Familiarity with infection control and hand hygiene standards
• Ability to observe, record, and communicate resident changes
• Teamwork and time management in a fast-paced long-term care setting
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with older adults
