Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support to geriatric residents
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, and dressing
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Help with safe transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans
• Contribute to a positive, respectful environment for residents and families

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (or equivalent state-recognized certification)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working night shifts and flexible per diem schedules
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; resident-focused attitude
• Background check and any state-required clearances as applicable
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Ability to assist with mobility and transfers safely
• Basic charting and following written care plans
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
