Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist with safe mobility and transfers, promoting independence while preventing falls
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly and accurately
• Document care activities and resident responses clearly and professionally
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and their families
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification required or willing to obtain
• Comfort and experience working with elderly residents in long-term care or similar settings preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and flexible per diem schedules
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (as noted in qualifications)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Basic vital sign measurement and observational skills
• Infection control and safe handling practices
• Reliable documentation and reporting abilities
• Teamwork, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
