Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Plant Operations, Environmental Services, and Grounds to keep the hospital safe, compliant, and running smoothly
• Directly and indirectly supervise approximately 45 FTEs across multiple divisions and build strong, service-oriented teams
• Develop job-specific customer service expectations and training plans, and follow up on employee and customer concerns professionally and promptly
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and inspect equipment to ensure systems operate to manufacturer standards
• Manage contractors and ensure all outside work complies with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS and local building and fire codes to protect patients, staff, and visitors
• Act as a collaborative liaison with other departments to assess needs and implement action plans that support patient care
• Direct maintenance of utility systems (heat, steam, power, gas, oxygen) to maintain continuous facility operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 5+ years of personnel management experience leading multi-discipline facilities teams
• Thorough practical knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling, life safety codes, construction phasing and environmental services operations
• Proven ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose, detect and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
• Willingness to relocate to a rural area

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field (preferred)

• Facility operations and plant operations management
• Preventative maintenance planning and equipment inspection
• Regulatory compliance (NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS and local codes)
• Contractor management and vendor oversight
• Team leadership, personnel management and training development
