Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care including bathing, dressing, turning, and mobility assistance
• Monitor and record vital signs and blood sugars accurately
• Assist with insertion of straight catheters and perform EKGs as required
• Support feeding and pass meal trays, ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Document care thoroughly and communicate updates to the Charge Nurse/House Supervisor
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Float to the acute/swing bed unit when needed and complete unit-specific orientation

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum one year of CNA experience preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and covering every other weekend/holiday
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with nursing teams
• Ability to perform basic clinical tasks such as EKGs and straight catheter insertion

Education

• Current CNA certification; High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid CNA skills in activities of daily living and basic patient care
• Familiarity with vital sign monitoring and blood sugar checks
• Competence with EKGs and basic catheter procedures
• Good charting and documentation practices
• Ability to adapt to floating between units and varied patient needs
• Teamwork, time management, and patient-centered communication
