Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care across MedSurg and Telemetry units
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and ensure their comfort and safety
• Perform reliable telemetry observation and report changes to the nursing team
• Accurately document care and patient status in Cerner to keep the team informed
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to support smooth patient flow
• Maintain BLS protocols and contribute to a safe clinical environment
• Adapt quickly while floating between units and facilities to meet patient needs

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification/credential (license to submit required)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Acute Care experience (MedSurg/Telemetry experience preferred)
• Comfortable floating between MedSurg and Telemetry units and between campuses
• Strong teamwork, communication, and basic charting skills (Cerner experience a plus)

Education

• CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Acute Care and MedSurg foundations
• Telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac/respiratory changes
• Proficient charting in Cerner (electronic health record)
• BLS knowledge and emergency response awareness
• Patient handling, bedside care, and infection control practices
• Flexibility and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced hospital setting
