Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support and mentoring to new hires, experienced staff, and students to elevate patient care
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and continuing education activities for the department
• Support nursing staff with complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment planning
• Serve as a clinical practice resource and liaison between bedside staff and leadership
• Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and design interventions to improve outcomes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based standards of care and new clinical practices
• Perform quality control audits and report concerns related to accuracy, quality of care, and compliance

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (required)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (required)
• Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) and High Risk Competency (SEARHC) required
• Minimum of 5 years of Registered Nurse experience in acute care settings preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Sound knowledge of clinical practice standards, safe medication administration, and acute care procedures
• Experience conducting comprehensive patient assessments and assisting with specialized procedures
• Ability to develop and deliver education using varied teaching methods
• Proficient with electronic health records and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Skilled at motivating staff, promoting evidence-based practice, and implementing quality improvements
• Calm, clear communicator who performs well in high-stress situations
