Location: Rio Rancho, NM

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM Day shift

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting needs
Monitor, record, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition
Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for patients
Communicate clearly with nurses and the care team to coordinate care
Document care accurately in the patient record and follow facility protocols

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification (required) — must be eligible to work in New Mexico
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain promptly
Basic patient care experience preferred but enthusiastic new CNAs are welcome
Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
Strong communication skills, compassion, and reliability

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA credential

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic patient care and infection control practices
Comfortable with vital signs, ADLs, and safe patient handling
Familiarity with charting and following care plans (EHR experience a plus)
Strong observational skills and ability to report changes accurately
Team-oriented mindset and excellent interpersonal skills
