Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents: assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting and mobility
• Monitor and document patient status and vital signs accurately and promptly
• Support safe transfers and fall prevention efforts to maintain a secure environment
• Communicate changes in resident condition to nurses and the care team in a clear, timely manner
• Assist with meal service, nutrition monitoring and hydration needs
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Contribute to a positive resident experience by offering respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• Active state nurse aide registry as required by New Mexico
• Basic clinical experience in long-term care or rehab settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to pass facility background checks and meet health screening requirements
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or readily obtainable

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental patient care skills and ADL assistance
• Safe resident transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• Basic infection control and safety procedures
• Teamwork and effective communication with nurses, therapists and families
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during busy shifts
