Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, dressing and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Take and record vital signs and patient weights promptly and report changes to the RN/LPN
• Monitor and accurately document intake and output according to unit standards or physician orders
• Follow infection control and universal precautions to keep residents and the team safe
• Maintain resident confidentiality and support resident rights in every interaction
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, supporting RN/LPN care plans and pitching in where needed
• Assist with orientation of residents and families to the unit, facility and available services
• Provide attentive, patient-centered care in long-term care and skilled rehab settings

Qualifications

• Active Maine C.N.A. license (required)
• Completion of an approved CNA training program or equivalent preparation
• Ability to take initial vital signs and provide accurate weights in a timely manner
• Experience or passion for working with long-term care residents and skilled rehab patients
• Strong teamwork, effective listening, and clear communication skills
• Empathy, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm and objective in challenging situations

Education

• Active Maine C.N.A. License
• Completion of state-approved CNA program or equivalent

• Vital signs measurement and reporting
• Intake and output monitoring and documentation
