Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living
• Perform routine observations such as taking vital signs and reporting changes to nursing staff
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility assistance with proper technique
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and patient status
• Follow infection control and facility safety protocols to ensure a secure environment
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support individualized patient care plans

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Comfort working in a correctional treatment center environment (assignment at Centinela State Prison CTC)
• Availability to work the posted days and times, including weekend coverage
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a team
• Registry/temporary assignment experience is a plus but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient hygiene, feeding, and assistance with ADLs
• Basic proficiency with taking and recording vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control and proper PPE use
• Reliable documentation and handoff communication
• Ability to follow structured routines and facility-specific protocols
• Calm, de-escalation-capable approach appropriate for correctional healthcare settings
