Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient condition accurately
• Assist nursing team with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility support
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Communicate changes in patient status promptly to nurses and supervisors
• Build rapport with patients and family members, delivering respectful care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — active and in good standing
• State authorization to practice in New Mexico (or willingness to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Comfort working night shifts and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Completion of an accredited CNA program or equivalent training
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care and bedside skills
• Accurate documentation and charting habits
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Good communication skills with patients, families, and clinical staff
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from RNs/LPNs
• Basic mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
