Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor and delivery nursing care to birthing people throughout labor and delivery
• Support perioperative care in the OR and coordinate transitions to PACU when needed
• Deliver compassionate postpartum and couplet care for mother and baby
• Assess and care for neonates 32 weeks and up, following NRP and STABLE guidance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care
• Maintain and document clinical competencies on a skills sheet and ensure Nursys verifications are up to date
• Participate in rotating weekend coverage and assigned call rotations to maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Colorado RN license or compact license eligible and in good standing
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NRP, and STABLE
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions permitted)
• Experience in Labor & Delivery with exposure to OR and PACU settings
• Comfort providing postpartum and couplet care and caring for neonates 32 weeks and older
• Team player with strong communication skills and commitment to evidence-based practice

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery workflows and maternal-fetal nursing
• Neonatal assessment and resuscitation skills aligned with NRP and STABLE
• Perioperative and PACU fundamentals for obstetric patients
• Patient-centered care and excellent bedside manner
• Familiarity with skills sheets, competency documentation, and Nursys verification
• Ability to work effectively on a team in a high-volume birth environment
