Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care in the ER
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments following physician orders and protocols
• Monitor patient status and intervene promptly for changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate efficient patient flow
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and professionally
• Provide compassionate education and emotional support to patients and families during critical moments
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance emergency care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact license as applicable)
• Emergency department experience preferred; per diem ER experience a plus
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on patient-centered care
• Vaccination and health screening compliance per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of emergency nursing principles, triage, and acute care interventions
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
• Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong situational awareness and clinical judgment in emergency settings
