Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting significant changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation in patient charts and handoffs
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe patient environment
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Respond promptly and professionally to patient needs, demonstrating empathy and respect

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Valid CNA authorization in California or ability to obtain state authorization prior to assignment
• CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Comfortable and experienced with overnight 12-hour shifts
• Ability to pass background checks, TB screening, and any facility-required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring attitude toward patients and families

Education

• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient personal care, bathing, grooming, and toileting assistance
• Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and observing patient condition
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety protocols
• Familiarity with safe transfer techniques and immobilization precautions
• Good time management and teamwork skills in fast-paced clinical settings
• Basic charting and electronic documentation comfort
