Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe patient transfers, mobility, and positioning to protect patient dignity
- Observe and document patient condition, behavior, and care provided in the chart
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to support patient care plans
- Respond calmly and effectively to patient needs and urgent situations
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (California)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
- Successful background check and drug screen per facility policy
- Comfortable performing physical tasks required for patient care
- Previous CNA experience preferred but dedicated, trainable caregivers are encouraged to apply
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Reliable time management and the ability to follow care plans
- Understanding of infection prevention and patient safety practices
