Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality telemetry nursing care to adult patients
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and notify the team of changes
- Perform thorough assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and support staff for coordinated care
- Document patient status and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families on condition, treatment and discharge goals
- Respond calmly and effectively to urgent changes in patient condition
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in California
- Clinical experience in telemetry or step-down units preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Comfortable interpreting cardiac rhythms and responding to arrhythmias
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach
- Vaccinations and health screening per facility policy
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
- Other relevant certifications encouraged (ACLS, PALS as applicable)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Strong bedside assessment and triage skills
- Familiarity with common telemetry/step-down protocols and interventions
- Proficient documentation in an electronic health record (EHR)
- Teamwork, clinical judgment, and time management under pressure
