Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment for Ambulatory and General OR cases
• Set up surgical instruments, electrosurgical units and fiber optic equipment for each procedure
• Assist surgeons and scrub team during cases including orthopedic, urology, ENT, ophthalmology and podiatry procedures
• Perform counts and specimen handling accurately to support patient safety and documentation
• Manage urinary bladder catheterization and wound management processes as needed
• Document case details in the charting system, with Epic experience considered a plus
• Float to the Main OR across the street when needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary support staff

Qualifications

• Active California state license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
• BLS preferred
• Comfortable in Ambulatory OR and General OR settings with procedures across orthopedics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology and podiatry
• Familiarity with Epic or other charting systems is a plus
• Able to work the posted schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

• Infection control and Universal Protocol (Time out)
• Electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources/cords
• Urinary bladder catheterization and wound management
• Experience in Ambulatory OR and General OR workflows
• Specimen handling and labeling best practices
• Comfortable with Epic and other charting systems
• Ability to float between OR locations and collaborate with unit support staff
