Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care on MedSurg and telemetry patients using evidence-based practice
• Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
• Start and manage IV therapy with skill and attention to patient comfort
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and participate in the unit emergency response
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Float between units within the OSU organization as needed while maintaining high standards of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years MedSurg experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated IV start and telemetry skills required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
• Comfort with floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity and working weekends/rotating holidays

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry best practices
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Strong IV start technique and infusion management
• Emergency response and rapid assessment skills
• Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting
• Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate with team members
