Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures from setup through scanning and image processing with accuracy and attention to safety
- Prepare and administer contrast media and perform peripheral IV starts when required
- Operate and maintain MR and auxiliary equipment ensuring quality control and adherence to ACR safety guidelines
- Communicate clearly with radiologists, physicians, patients, and families to support excellent care and diagnostic outcomes
- Assist radiologists with examinations and help manage day-to-day MRI scheduling
- Carry out image post-processing tasks (MIP, MPR, ADC mapping, subtraction) to support diagnostic reporting
- Ensure documentation and reporting in EPIC and maintain imaging quality standards
- Support a two-technologist coverage model to deliver continuous, high-quality MRI services
Qualifications
- Current BLS certification required
- ARRT (R) and ARRT MR certification required
- Washington state licensure required (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year MRI experience required; first-timers accepted per posting notes
- Comfortable performing contrast administration and peripheral IV starts
- Experience with Toshiba Vantage Titan 1.5T preferred; familiarity with GE, Philips, Siemens a plus
- Ability to work night shifts and function as part of a 24/7 MRI team
- All required RTO (return-to-office/time-off) details must be included with submittal
Knowledge & Skills
- MR image acquisition and operating MR equipment
- MRI safety and adherence to ACR imaging guidelines
- T1- and T2-weighted imaging, spin echo, gradient echo techniques
- Diffusion imaging (non-brain), MRA procedures for abdomen and thorax
- Image post-processing: MIP, MPR, ADC mapping and subtraction
- Use of surface coils and protocol selection for musculoskeletal and spine imaging
- Experience with PACS and EPIC charting workflows
- Strong patient communication and team collaboration skills
