Radiologic Technologist - Interventional Radiology
Location: Winston Salem, NC
Start Date: 04-29-2026
End Date: 07-29-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, staggered start between 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM for 8-hour day shifts (typical end between 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM); Day shift with scheduled on-call rotation for evenings and weekends (primary and backup call rotation as described)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $73 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and maintain a sterile field during a wide range of interventional radiology procedures, including neuro (stroke) and body cases
- Assist the physician with vascular interventions such as angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, and dialysis graft procedures
- Perform contrast administration protocols and manage PACS imaging workflows
- Support venous access procedures, port management, biopsies, drainages, and nephrostomy-related tasks
- Rotate on primary and backup on-call schedules to provide after-hours and weekend coverage
- Participate fully in hospital orientation and unit-specific training to ensure safe, consistent patient care
- Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams to help coordinate high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients
Qualifications
- ARRT (R) required and BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year scrub experience with neuro/stroke experience in IR (hard stop)
- Travel experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
- Experience with Siemens and Phillips x-ray/IR equipment and PACS workflows
- Contrast administration experience and comfort with vascular/interventional procedures
- Inpatient hospital experience preferred; outpatient, OR, ER, and Level I trauma experience are a plus
- Available and committed to full orientation week and able to meet call rotation requirements
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Interventional Radiology procedures: angioplasty, stents, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, biopsies, drainages
- Neuro IR including stroke intervention, thrombolysis/thrombectomy experience
- Venous access and port placement/management
- PACS operation and image management
- Contrast protocols and patient safety during contrast administration
- Familiarity with Acuson, McKesson, Visage and advanced imaging systems (preferred)
- Ability to maintain sterile field and perform efficient scrub duties in high-volume cases (daily caseload 13-17)
