Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to orders
• Monitor, assess, and document changes in patient condition promptly
• Collaborate with RNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary staff to create and follow care plans
• Respond to patient needs and clinical emergencies with calm, effective action
• Educate residents and families about care plans, medications, and safety
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
• Support infection control, safety protocols, and a clean healing environment

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in Maine or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working night shifts and flexible per diem schedules
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a resident-centered approach
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN diploma or certificate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Resident assessment and basic clinical monitoring
• Electronic health record charting and accurate documentation
• Wound care basics and infection control practices
• Time management, prioritization, and delegation within the care team
• Clear communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff
