Location: Bismarck, North Dakota

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM; with on-call requirements (3-4 weeknights and every other weekend)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform first scrub duties in complex cardiovascular surgeries including open hearts, CABG, valve procedures, and thoracic cases
Assist in the setup and maintenance of sterile field for CVOR and general OR cases
Cross-train into general OR specialties when CV volumes are low
Float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter to supplement hours as needed
Participate in on-call rotation for weeknights and weekends
Collaborate with charge nurse and team to ensure efficient case flow

Qualifications

At least 2 years of CVOR experience with open heart, CABG, and valve surgery
Must be able to first scrub independently
Willingness to cross-train and float to other units
Current BLS certification
CST or NCCT certification
North Dakota UAP certification

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in sterile technique and instrumentation
Experience with robotic cases (ION), ECMO, Impella 5.5, and Stryker towers
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Adaptable to low case volume by assisting in general OR or patient sitting
