Surgical Tech
Location: San Luis Obispo, California
Start Date: 06-29-2026
End Date: 09-28-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 8-hour shifts with variable start times, Monday-Sunday schedule set by manager, one weekend of call per month, one call night per week with 30-minute response time
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment and supplies are sterile and ready
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile field
- Handle high-volume ortho cases including total joints, general, gyn, peds, and eyes
- Collaborate with the OR team to deliver safe, efficient patient care
- Respond to on-call needs within 30 minutes when scheduled
Qualifications
- 2 years of OR experience required
- BLS certification required
- IAHCSMM Certification required for sterile processing duties
- Travel experience preferred
- Cerner Surginet experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with autoclave equipment including Steris and V-Pro
- Strong sterile processing and instrument handling skills
- Comfortable with ortho, general, gyn, peds, and eye procedures
- Ability to work variable 8-hour shifts and take call
- Team-oriented with excellent communication
