Location: Sacramento, California

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Varied day shifts: 10-hour or 8-hour shifts, starting at 6:00 AM or 10:00 AM; includes overnight call once a week and weekend call 3 days per month.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert surgical support during complex cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced CVOR environment
Anticipate surgeon needs, prepare instrumentation, and maintain sterile field for open-heart surgeries
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety
Participate in call rotations, including overnight and weekend coverage, to support emergent cases
Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance in the CVOR suite

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience required
Active BLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Strong ability to read and interpret EKG strips
Comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced surgical environment
First-time travelers welcome to apply

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Cerner EMR system
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to varying shift schedules and on-call duties
Strong attention to detail and sterile technique
