Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate resident communication and swallowing function using evidence-based assessments
• Develop individualized, goal-driven treatment plans that support meaningful progress
• Provide therapeutic interventions for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and dysphagia
• Collaborate actively with nursing, therapy colleagues, and families to coordinate care
• Document assessments, plans, and progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate caregivers and interdisciplinary team members to support carryover of skills
• Participate in discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care

Qualifications

• Massachusetts state license in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
• Clinical experience in adult/rehabilitation or long-term care settings preferred (open to new grads with strong clinical skills)
• Strong documentation and assessment skills, comfortable with EMR charting
• Clear background check and required health screenings per facility policy

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in dysphagia evaluation and management and safe-swallow strategies
• Assessment and treatment for speech, language, cognition, and voice disorders
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) approaches
• Strong interdisciplinary communication and family education skills
• Outcome-driven goal writing and progress measurement
• Comfortable working in rehab and long-term care environments
