Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and assess trends to keep patients safe
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate when needed
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the chart
- Provide clear patient and family education to support recovery and discharge
Qualifications
- Active RN license (California) or eligible to obtain state licensure
- Telemetry nursing experience and comfort interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- ACLS certification preferred when caring for higher-acuity cardiac patients
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work independently during night shifts
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- BSN preferred but all qualified RNs are encouraged to apply
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring and telemetry strip interpretation
- Skilled with medication administration and IV therapy
- Familiarity with electronic health records and timely documentation
- Solid critical thinking and prioritization in acute care settings
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies
