Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate compassionate nursing care for residents across all ages, tailoring to their unique needs
- Lead with confidence, delegating and supervising CNAs, LPNs, and team members during your shift
- Perform thorough assessments through interviews, observation, and the nursing process to catch issues early
- Administer medications accurately and manage care plans in collaboration with physicians and the healthcare team
- Teach patients and families essential skills for health and coping, while documenting everything in EHR
- Respond calmly to emergencies, prioritizing care based on acuity and making sound judgments
- Promote SEARHC Seven Standards of Excellence while ensuring confidentiality and quality care in every moment
Qualifications
- Current full, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska (or applied for before start date)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
- Clinical Competency Assessment within 3 months of hire and every three years
- High Risk Competency within 3 months of hire and every year
- Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Bachelor's degree in nursing, Associate's degree in nursing or Diploma in nursing)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in nursing assessment, care planning, medication administration, patient teaching, and EHR documentation
- Strong leadership and emergency response skills
- Knowledge of nursing principles, pharmaceuticals, and scientific practices
- Proficiency in operating medical equipment like AED
- Excellent oral and written communication for team collaboration and resident data management
