Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curriculum and training programs tailored to long-term care staff
• Partner with clinical leaders to standardize and evaluate clinical competencies
• Deliver engaging education both in-person and virtually to nursing and CNA staff
• Support preceptorships and coordinate student clinical experiences with partners
• Use evidence-based practice to improve professional development and patient outcomes
• Ensure education and competency programs meet policy, accreditation, and quality standards
• Serve as a collaborative member of the Clinical Nursing Education team and contribute to consortium-wide projects
• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of Nursing
• Current, full, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state (Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• BLS Instructor certification preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of hire
• Clinical Competency assessment completed within 3 months of hire and maintained per policy
• 5 years of professional nursing experience, including at least 2 years in long-term care
• 2 years of clinical instructor/educator experience (one year may be satisfied by supervisory experience)
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30% by jet, small aircraft, and ferry

Education

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from an accredited school of Nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Curriculum development and implementation for adult learners
• Clinical competency standardization and assessment
• Adult and geriatric care expertise with LTC focus
• Experience with evidence-based practice and quality improvement
• Familiarity with policy and accreditation compliance
• Training delivery in-person and virtual (TEAMS, Articulate, PowerPoint, skills fairs)
• Comfort with tools like Microsoft Teams, Workday, Canva, Smartsheet, SharePoint
• Strong oral and written communication and collaborative leadership skills
