Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry closely and promptly identify arrhythmias and changes in rhythm
• Provide attentive post-operative care for open-heart and other surgical patients
• Perform focused assessments, initiate ACLS/BLS interventions when indicated, and escalate concerns
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery
• Document accurate, timely patient care in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on recovery, medications, and follow-up care
• Complete required Prime exams and maintain competency via skills checklists

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Nursys verification
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications as listed
• Experience with acute cardiac telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with post-operative and open-heart post-op care
• Per Diem availability with day and night shift flexibility and every-other-weekend availability preferred
• Ability to pass required health screenings and drug testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Post-operative cardiac and surgical patient care
• ACLS and BLS protocols and emergency response
• NIHSS and neurologic assessment awareness
• Strong clinical documentation and EHR navigation
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills
• Attention to infection control, fit testing, and vaccine/health requirement processes
