Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and interventions to patients in need
• Perform patient assessments, monitor respiratory status, and report changes
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies in accordance with orders
• Operate and maintain respiratory equipment with attention to safety and infection control
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and the care team to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and home care techniques
• Participate in orientation and training to ensure consistent, excellent care across shifts

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist (RT) credential or equivalent (required)
• State respiratory licensure (or eligibility) — ability to obtain MO licensure if not already licensed
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; advanced certifications encouraged
• Comfortable with respiratory equipment and monitoring devices
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation (orientation is required for this role)

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent; CRT/RRT credentials preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of respiratory care modalities, oxygen therapy, and airway management
• Skill in operating ventilators and aerosol delivery systems
• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Strong assessment skills and ability to recognize changes in patient status
• Teamwork and clear documentation in electronic medical records
