Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients with respiratory compromise, using clinical judgment to guide care
• Deliver evidence-based respiratory treatments and airway management
• Operate and manage ventilators and other respiratory equipment safely and effectively
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and update individualized care plans
• Perform and interpret respiratory-related testing and document findings clearly
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory conditions and home care
• Participate in competency testing and performance improvement activities

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license or credential with verification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP preferred
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as required
• Current fit test and respirator evaluation completed per facility policy
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screening: Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza, Varicella, and 2-step PPD or IGRA
• Successful completion of Trinity 10-Panel Drug Screen and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory pharmacology
• Skilled in arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation
• Proficient in patient assessment, triage, and acute respiratory intervention
• Comfortable using hospital respiratory equipment and following infection control practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with nursing and physicians
• Familiarity with Trinity competency processes and facility-specific workflows
