Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiopulmonary evaluations and deliver high-quality respiratory care across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Provide advanced life support and neonatal resuscitation when indicated, following established protocols and physician orders
• Educate patients, families and the public on respiratory conditions and treatment plans to improve outcomes
• Operate and manage respiratory therapy equipment safely and effectively across all hospital areas
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in critical care, labor/delivery and neonatal units to ensure coordinated patient care
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain up-to-date patient records to support clinical decisions

Qualifications

• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• Current New York State license required
• New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required up front for submissions
• NRP, ACLS, BLS and PALS required
• Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Resuscitation experience required
• Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program required
• Critical care proficiency and clinical competency in neonatal/ICU settings
• Completion of Welle verbal de-escalation training or CPI crisis prevention training as part of onboarding
• Ability to complete a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Profile items required: work history, skills checklist (current to 1 year), supervisory signed reference (within 2 years), permanent address matching ID

Education

• Associate's in Accredited Respiratory Care Program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven experience with EPIC electronic health record
• Strong cardiopulmonary assessment and respiratory therapy skills
• Neonatal resuscitation and labor/delivery respiratory support expertise
• Effective patient and family education and communication
• Crisis de-escalation and behavioral safety awareness
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams in high-acuity areas
