Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms continuously to detect changes early
- Provide skilled nursing care to telemetry patients, including assessments and interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
- Respond quickly and calmly to changes in patient status and emergencies
Qualifications
- Current RN license in California (or compact RN with eligibility to work in CA)
- Experience or strong interest in telemetry nursing
- Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable with cardiac monitoring, telemetry alarms, and rapid assessment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on nights
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Skilled in patient assessment, IV medication administration, and documentation
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
- Team-focused mindset with strong patient advocacy skills
