Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage high-acuity patients with confidence and urgency
• Provide trauma, surgical, neuro and spinal nursing care for complex patients
• Perform timely, accurate documentation in EPIC to support continuity of care
• Monitor critical signs and intervene promptly for changes in patient status
• Collaborate with surgeons, neuro teams, rehab staff and multidisciplinary partners
• Implement evidence-based interventions and post-op care plans
• Support patient and family education for discharge and ongoing management
• Contribute to a safe, respectful unit culture during high-stress situations

Qualifications

• Current RN license (must provide Nursing License and Nursys License Verification)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in specialty (trauma, neuro/spinal, surgical or high-acuity)
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Proficiency in EPIC required
• Complete profile with work history/resume (no gaps greater than 60 days), skills checklist, references, and certification card
• Badge-appropriate photo for credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• High-acuity and trauma care skills
• Surgical and post-op patient management
• Neuro/spinal patient assessment and care
• EPIC documentation and electronic charting proficiency
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making
• Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
• Familiarity with caring for complex populations including gunshot wounds, quadriplegia and paraplegia
