Location: Spokane, WA

Start Date: 05-08-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Orientation: 4-hour sessions (start time to be scheduled). Regular Med/Surg (Peds) RN shift details to be provided by hiring team.

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
Assess and monitor patient condition, intervene as needed, and escalate appropriately
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
Document thoroughly and timely in the patient chart/EHR to ensure continuity of care
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Participate in orientation and ongoing education to maintain best practices

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (WA) or eligible for WA licensure
Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg and pediatric nursing
BLS (Basic Life Support) required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital setting and collaborating with a team
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and patient advocacy

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid Med/Surg nursing assessment and intervention skills
Pediatric patient care experience or aptitude
Medication administration and IV therapy competency
Proficient documentation in electronic health records (EHR)
Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient/family education abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely
