Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for med/surg and pediatric patients
• Assess, monitor and document patient status, vital signs and responses to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Participate in orientation and training to ensure continuity of care and adherence to facility standards
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and safe discharge plans
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records and communicate critical information during handoffs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or eligible to obtain state licensure
• Experience or clinical background in Med/Surg and Pediatrics (clinical orientation provided)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; PALS or pediatric certification preferred
• Ability to complete required pre-employment screenings, immunizations and background checks
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills; reliable and patient-focused

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) — diploma holders considered per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of med/surg nursing practices and pediatric care principles
• Competence with medication administration and basic IV therapy
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Infection control, patient safety and monitoring protocols
• Excellent clinical assessment, prioritization and time management skills
• Professional interpersonal skills for working with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
