Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based med/surg nursing care to assigned patients
• Perform thorough assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care and clinical findings in the electronic health record clearly and timely

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (ability to practice in Louisiana or as required by facility policy)
• Med/Surg clinical experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — facility may require additional certifications
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and participate in rotating schedules

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med/surg nursing principles and standards of care
• Proficiency in patient assessment and clinical documentation
• Comfortable with medication administration and IV therapy basics
• Team-oriented communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment
