Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (12-hour shift length confirmed; specific daily start/end times and assigned days to be confirmed with facility; may include nights and weekends)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
Assess patient condition, monitor vitals, and respond to changes promptly
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care
Document patient care thoroughly and communicate handoffs clearly
Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
Contribute to unit workflow and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Active RN license in Louisiana (or ability to obtain)
Clinical experience or competency in medical/surgical nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset
Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices and procedures
Skilled in medication administration and IV therapy basics
Proficient with electronic health record documentation
Excellent assessment skills and the ability to prioritize patient needs
Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and team collaboration
