Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess patients regularly and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate excellent care
• Monitor and document patient status, reporting changes promptly
• Educate patients and families on procedures, diagnoses, and discharge planning
• Support unit workflow by assisting colleagues and participating in unit initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN licensure where applicable)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and/or other certifications preferred
• Med/Surg clinical experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training welcome to apply
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and function well in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices and adult patient care
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Skill in medication administration, IV therapy, and basic procedures
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
• Collaborative teamwork and clear communication with patients and staff
