Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based Med/Surg nursing care to assigned patients
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor clinical changes
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
Document care thoroughly and communicate effectively with patients and families
Support transitions of care and discharge planning to optimize outcomes

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and other certifications encouraged
Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and teamwork mindset

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN). BSN preferred but not required.

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in Med/Surg patient assessment and care planning
Familiarity with medication administration and documentation best practices
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage acuity on a busy unit
Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
Comfort using electronic health records and clinical technology
