Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to Med Surg Tele and PCU patients across three 10-bed units
Interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms with precision
Deliver holistic nursing care to patients recovering from total hip and knee replacements, hysterectomies, and exploratory laparotomies
Support patients managing COPD, pneumonia, COVID, and complex infections including MRSA and C-diff
Precept and mentor nursing students while maintaining high standards of patient care
Float to Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit, and West Campus Med Surg Tele as needed
Collaborate with charge nurses managing 50 inpatient beds including MST, PEDS, and Acuity Adaptable MCU

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience preferred with telemetry experience
Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% score within two attempts
Willingness to care for both MST and PCU level patients
Must live outside 50-mile radius and not have worked at CommonSpirit facilities in the past year

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
Med Surg nursing fundamentals
Precepting and mentoring nursing students
Care of stable CPAP and BiPAP patients
Infection control for MRSA, C-diff, and COVID patients
