Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Day) or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night); every-other-weekend rotation; current opening includes night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $88 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
- Perform advanced fetal monitoring and interpret tracings using the Fetal Link system to ensure fetal well-being
- Circulate for C-sections and assist the surgical team; scrubbing experience is a plus
- Deliver couplet care and manage postpartum patients with a 1:4 ratio where appropriate
- Triage and manage admissions in a busy L&D environment with 14 L&D beds and 6 triage bays
- Communicate clearly with OB providers, neonatology backup, and multidisciplinary teams including RT and pharmacy
- Document care accurately in Cerner EMR and participate in unit charge nurse duties when assigned
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure (eligible to practice in the job's state)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (L&D experience strongly preferred)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWOHNN advanced for L&D)
- COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy
- C-section circulating experience required; scrubbing experience preferred
- Comfort with floating to postpartum and providing couplet care
Education
- Active RN license required; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with advanced fetal monitoring and Fetal Link system
- Experience charting in Cerner EMR
- Familiarity with Philips telemetry
- Ability to manage high-risk OB cases (pre-eclampsia, insulin-dependent diabetes, substance use complications)
- Strong triage skills and ability to prioritize in a busy acute care setting
- Excellent interprofessional communication and teamwork
